A Brief History
On December 27, 2007, Mombasa, Kenya, was the scene of violent protests over a disputed presidential election. Mombasa, a gateway to East Africa, happens to be just one of the many fascinating places visited by Major Dan, and today we take a look at some of those nifty cities to visit.
Digging Deeper
Toronto and Montreal, Canada. These two largest cities in Canada present different takes on our neighbor to the Great White North, foreign, yet highly accessible and both with great food, museums, attractions, and wonderful people.
Honolulu, Hawaii. Truly a paradise on Earth, even the winter in Honolulu is balmy and pleasant. Great natural beauty and historical significance makes this city a wonderful destination.
Cannes, France. This Riviera masterpiece is beautiful and filled with beautiful people. Crystal clear waters and Ile Saint-Honorat just off-shore make for great beaches, great food, and great people watching.
Ibiza, Spain. A top Mediterranean vacation spot, you will quickly find out why Europeans flock to this beautiful island to enjoy the beaches and relaxing atmosphere, complete with great food and nightlife.
Jerusalem, Israel. An ancient city full of religious and cultural importance, you can see the famous sites and feel the living history of the Western and Near Eastern Worlds there. Major Dan even rode a camel in this historic city!
Note: Many other great places visited by Major Dan include Athens, Greece; Toulon and Marseille, France; Palma de Mallorca, Spain; Valencia, Barcelona, and Malaga, Spain; Naples, Italy; Sardinia, Tunisia, Egypt, Turkey, Norway, Denmark, Germany, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, Oman, and the island of St. Martin; not to mention 36 of the 50 American states and many of the great places in the USA!
