    Welcome

    A Brief History

I would like to take this opportunity to explain a little bit about this site!  This site features history-related and sometimes bizarre articles and lists and current and otherwise entertaining headlines and topics for your amusement and education.

    Digging Deeper

The site began in 2013 as a spin-off of TopTenz with Dr. Zar working as the site’s main writer.  Eventually, Dr. Zar’s dad (Major Dan) replaced Dr. Zar as the site’s main writer and the site’s original owner transferred ownership of the site to Dr. Zar.

The site now exists for the benefit of Dr. Zar’s students.  Although this site has a minimal amount of ads to cover hosting fees, this site is not a “business” in that it does not have any paid employees and as its primary purpose is educational in nature.

Written content on this site is either the original work of the indicated author or comes from works in the public domain.  Images are either original photographs by the articles’ authors or are primarily taken from what we believe in all sincerity to be the public domain or that are available through a Creative Commons License, often via Wikipedia or Wikimedia Commons.

As of May 17, 2020, this site is no longer accepting guest or sponsored articles.  Nor is this site accepting any paid link insertions into existing articles.  For any past work that any author submitted for publication on this site that is published here, that author retains the right to reuse his or her work elsewhere without requiring our approval or needing to compensate us for doing so.  Moreover, an author with his or her work published here may also request that we remove his or her article or list for any reason and we shall do so as soon as possible.

We welcome you to our site and look forward to sharing our world’s fascinating history with you and reading your thoughtful comments!  To my new students, best wishes for this semester!
