    UKCG

    A Brief History

This great gambling regulatory authority was established back under the 2005 UK Gambling Act which took full control of the gambling industry in Europe from 2007. The commission was basically formed to protect the interest of its clients which had highly been neglected. At the time of its formation, there were great malpractices in the European Gambling market.

The commission had a specific role of ensuring that punters in the gambling industry across the UK are not exploited and exposed to criminal activities and other malpractices. This includes putting in place legit gambling practices that restrict any form of criminal activity, fairness among gamblers and their providers not forgetting scrutinizing legally registered gambling Companies and make sure they abide by the set policies.

Digging Deeper: Overview of the Gambling History in the UK

Gambling has been in Europe’s culture for many centuries and has attracted many people sampling from all corners of the Queen’s land. In its early stage, gambling was identified as a game specifically made for people belonging to the high ranks and the wealthy in society.

Among the first games to be practiced were horse racing, card games, and dice which were introduced long ago when most stops were not widely practiced.

Due to great dynamics in this gambling industry, things have advanced to greater levels making the practice a more lucrative venture. The dynamics which are mostly attached to new trends in technology came to give rise to casino games which were majorly meant for business purposes. This type of game has been identified to move great masses across the UK and most people play for real money whirl others for fun. They are currently the most popular gambling activities in the UK and have greatly helped the British economy collect huge amounts of cash as tax from this industry.

    Formation of the UKGC

    Gambling Act 2005

This was the Act that leads to the formation of the United Kingdom Gambling Commission which came about with measures to regulate gambling practices in the UK. The authority which is a government body had clear rules that guaranteed fairness of gambling and presented a full list of online casino and slot sites in Europe including iGaming partners and their providers, curb all the criminal activities associated with EU gambling and generally ensuring a suitable environment for its punters.

    Gambling Act 2014

Gambling Act 2014 was established in a move to regulate the licensing requirements one needs so as to establish and run a gambling business in the UK. This Act which regulated the operators in the UK Gambling market helped in identifying illegal gambling Companies locked them out thereby listing the legit companies. Also, this document regulates the KYC process avoiding the UK casinos without verification or id required in order to support legal gambling. The measure helped the Gambling Commission of the UK in identifying legally registered companies that had been making money in an unclear manner in the name of gambling.

    The Appearance of GamStop

According to NonStopCasino.org, this is a self-exclusive mechanism that helps the gamblers in the gaming industry take a break or block themselves from gambling-related activities. The platform which offers blocking services from gambling-related activities has been able to reduce the risk of compulsive gambling among players. The Gamstop system that was approved by the UKGC equally has specific time frames to operate with depending on your program.

Lucky enough the system allows its members to get back to the previous state where all gambling notifications can be accessed once the agreed period has expired. This is only possible when a prior communication has been made to GamStop requesting for the same.

    Possible Future Changes

Changes in the пambling industry are completely inevitable, this is because of the nature of the industry. More measures need to be put in place to ensure safer gambling practices in the UK.

More measures have been identified that include reducing the maximum stake on can place a bet. This, for instance, shall control the amount of money one spends on gambling activities giving a chance of proper management of funds.

What does UKGC Bring for Players?

First, the сommission through its acts has created a friendly gambling environment in the UK market through its фcts and subsequent amendments to keep players in a safer position. The commission has helped gamblers as it has been able to identify illegal traders and eliminating them and this has helped gamblers trust their money in the right hands and reduce gambling-related disputes. With this, the UKGC has put Europe as one of the best gambling destinations globally.
