    A Brief History

On December 9, 1996, Casino Niagara opened in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada.  Many people in Canada have had their lives changed by striking it lucky in a casino.  Over the years, a number of lucky Canadians have turned a small bet into a million dollar win in a few seconds.  Clearly, not everyone can be this lucky; however, it is good to feel inspired by finding out how other people have won a fortune. The following are some of the biggest Canadian casino wins in history.

    Digging Deeper

    Mega Moolah Makes Another Winner

Among the online slots with the biggest prizes is the popular Mega Moolah. This game from Microgaming has created numerous millionaires over the years. One such example came in 2015, when a Canadian player hit the jackpot using his mobile phone.

The anonymous player from Vancouver scooped an incredible $7.5 million when the progressive jackpot came up for him. This was the biggest mobile casino win in history at the point. It held on to that record for some time afterwards.

You can play Mega Moolah and other progressive slots with huge jackpots at several Canadian casinos. According to slot-machines.ca, you can find this game at sites such as Betway Casino, Spin Palace Casino, and 888casino.

A Michael Jackson-Inspired Win in Niagara Falls

Another Canadian who was left delighted at their good luck was a 55-year-old lady called Kathyrn. She won an impressive $1.8 million in 2013 when playing a slot machine. This moment of good fortune happened at the Fallsview casino in Niagara Falls.

Apparently, she was attracted to a Michael Jackson-themed slot and put $60 into it. She said that she chose the machine because “I love Michael Jackson’s music” and that the win was “unbelievable”.

A few years earlier, an even bigger win occurred at Niagara Falls. The $5.6 million won by Doris Wendt was the biggest jackpot in Canadian casino history at this point. She won it on the Megabucks progressive slot at Casino Niagara.

    An Anonymous Slots Winner

Not all huge winners like for their name to be released to the public. In 2008, an anonymous but lucky player picked up a handsome $4.7 million prize on a slot machine at the Woodbine Racetrack Casino.

He won on the Megabucks slot and all we know is that he was a Toronto resident. The bells and alarms signalling his good fortune went off in the casino around midnight. Staff at the casino called him a “regular player” and said that he was thrilled with his massive win. It was the biggest ever win in the casino at that time.

    A Lucky Boxing Day

A retired man from Montreal scooped one of the other biggest casino jackpots in Canadian history according to timescolonist.com. Chi Hoc Hunyh wagered $30 on boxing day in the Montreal Casino in 2017 and got very lucky.

The main building of the casino (2011).

He won $1.8 million and said that he planned to travel using the money. He mentioned that a cruise was high on his list of priorities.
