    Thomas Cook

    A Brief History

On July 5, 1841, Thomas Cook, the founder of the travel agency Thomas Cook & Son, escorted around 500 people, who paid one shilling each for a train journey, on his first excursion.  Now, over 150 years later, we ask our readers, “Do you want to get paid to travel the world?” If so, use the information here to learn how to get paid to travel – you will not be disappointed!

One of the fastest-growing sectors in the world is tourism. In 2017, travel bookings totaled $1.6 trillion. For most people, traveling is a vacation from their daily job, but what if your job was to travel? We all see those lucky few whose lives seems like a dream. Every month they are in a new city, a new country, or a new continent.  We are going to tell you how to get paid to travel.

    Digging Deeper

How to Get Paid to Travel

The easiest way to make money while traveling is to start with your strengths. What are you good at and how can you translate that to making money?  Keep in mind that it can take time to build your monthly income. There may even be a few months where you struggle. In these instances, payday loans online can be incredibly helpful.

    Public Speaking

If you are a skilled public speaker, you can make money by scheduling public speaking opportunities while you travel. Whatever industry you have experience in, look up the conferences that relate to it. Then get yourself invited to speak.  Here are some topics to help get you started:

    • Business
    • Finance
    • Technology
    • Fitness
    • Nutrition

The best way to make this work is to pick an industry and look up the conferences around the world in that industry. Apply to the conferences in the cities that you want to visit.

    Become a Blogger

This one will take a lot of hard work and a few years before you make enough money to travel on. You need to commit to having a blog that you regularly update and promote.  Here are a few ways you can make money with your blog:

    • Affiliate marketing
    • Content creation
    • Social media
    • Media and product sales
    • Press trips
    • Advertising through Media vine

    Teach English

You will need to be careful, as many online ads for foreign English teachers are a scam; however, if you stick with it you will find a reputable school.  Most will require that you sign a one year contract, but you will work less than 20 hours a week and have plenty of time off for traveling the local area. They will even pay for your travel to and from the country.

    Freelance Writer

You do not need to have a personal blog to make money writing. You can find freelance writing jobs online that you can do from anywhere in the world. Try applying for opportunities through job boards.  Soon you will have a list of clients that will come to you for consistent work.

    Work on A Cruise Ship

If you like being on the water, the cruise ship life might be for you. You will travel from port to port and get the opportunity to see new destinations in your free time. You will receive a decent salary and get to travel to some of the most beautiful places in the world.

    Start Getting Paid

Knowing how to get paid to travel is the first step in realizing your dream of traveling for a living. Start by identifying your valuable skills and knowledge, and then figure out how to monetize them.

Question for students (and subscribers): Have you ever traveled outside of the United States of America?  Please let us know in the comments section below this article.
