A Brief History
Recent news programs were flush with news about the 2016 Presidential race, and Rafael Eduardo (“Ted”) Cruz was featured in a couple of these videos, much to his embarrassment.
Digging Deeper
Bad enough the National Enquirer ran a story about Cruz having 5 “secret mistresses,” something that is extremely difficult for Cruz to disprove other than to deny the story, but a video of Cruz at age 18 talking about his ultimate goal of “world domination” is impossible to deny.
If the self inflicted wounds to his campaign were not bad enough, Cruz suffered the indignity of a PAC television ad against him labeling him “Lyin’ Ted” and having him grow an ultra-long Pinocchio nose. The ad was produced by the Super PAC New Day for America, a supporter of Ohio Governor John Kasich for president. Cruz responded to Kasich by insisting Kasich drop out of the race, a self serving scenario for Cruz.
Ted Cruz is known as “The most hated man in the Senate,” an arrogant and condescending person that thinks he is superior to other people and looks down on others. The reluctant “support” of politicians such as Senator Lindsay Graham is so unenthusiastic as to be more of a detriment than an asset. Ted’s willingness to shut down the US Government, costing taxpayers ridiculous sums of money, just so he could grandstand on the Senate floor is a clue to his penchant for self promotion over the good of the public. His preposterous promises about what he will do on his “first day in office” as president such as “repeal Obamacare” are neither legal or possible, clearly a lie pandering to his conservative base. Of course, he has no alternative to Obamacare to cover the health insurance needs of working Americans.
Cruz also proposes a seemingly enticing (and totally unrealistic) plan to abolish the IRS and institute a flat tax of 10% on the US, a plan that would save millionaires and billionaires a tremendous amount of money and greatly increase the tax burden on the bottom half of wage earning taxpayers. Add this to his anti-union stance and Cruz is basically a crusader against working class Americans, most of whom do not seem to understand how these policies will ruin their lives.
Finally, we have yet to see what happens if Cruz actually gets nominated by the Republican Party and Democrats sue about his eligibility to run for President due to his Canadian birth and citizenship, a potentially devastating scenario for Republicans, as if the rest of this is not enough!
