    A Brief History

On June 19, 2020, several history-themed YouTube channels have collaborated with each other to present a playlist of videos dealing with the history of the Merovingian dynasty, a family of Frankish kings who ruled an area of modern France and Germany from the 5th to 8th century AD.

    Digging Deeper

Please watch the full playlist below and we encourage you to also subscribe to all of the channels that participated in the collaboration for more great history-themed videos:

Question for students (and subscribers): What is your favorite video in the playlist?  Please let us know in the comments section below this article.

The featured image in this article, a painting by Lawrence Alma-Tadema (1836–1912) showing the education of the children of Clovis, is a faithful photographic reproduction of a two-dimensional, public domain work of art. The work of art itself is in the public domain for the following reason: The author died in 1912, so this work is in the public domain in its country of origin and other countries and areas where the copyright term is the author’s life plus 100 years or fewer.
