A Brief History A few days ago, we featured an article hailing mixed martial artist Jon Jones for having cemented his position as greatest light heavyweight champion ever.   Digging Deeper Unfortunate news has come out on Tuesday, January 6, 2015, that he had tested positive for cocaine use in a pre-fight drug test (the results of which were only made public after the fight).  As can be read here, the MMA community is deeply disappointed by this news.  Question for students (and subscribers): The full consequences of this revelation are yet to be revealed, but we ask our readers what punishment do you think…

A Brief History Shortly before 1 AM Eastern Time on January 4, 2015, the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s (UFC) light heavyweight champion Jon Jones defeated formerly undefeated Olympian Daniel Cormier in a grueling five-round battle in Las Vegas.  With this victory, Jones cements his position as the all-time greatest light heavyweight mixed martial artist.  The youngest fighter to win a UFC championship, his accomplishments include having the most successful consecutive title defenses in the division and the longest win streak in UFC light heavyweight history.
