A Brief History On March 11, 2009, Germany experienced the pain and horror of a mass shooting at a high school, an incident in which 16 people were killed and 9 others wounded. The weapon? A Brief History On March 11, 1916, the United States Navy commissioned its first “Super-Dreadnaught” modern battleship, the USS Nevada BB-36.  Named after the State of Nevada, the USS Nevada was the first of a 2 ship class, the other ship being the USS Oklahoma BB-37.
