    A Profile of Dr. Matthew Zarzeczny

    Dr. Matthew Zarzeczny

    A Brief History

    Dr. Matthew Zarzeczny graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.A. in French and History from Baldwin-Wallace College (BW) in 2002. At BW, he minored in political science and served as secretary and then president of the French Club. He went on to earn a Master’s in History at Kent State University in 2004 and a Ph.D. in History from the Ohio State University in 2009.

    Digging Deeper

    Although born in Virginia, Dr. Zarzeczny lived most of his life in Ohio. A fellow of the International Napoleonic Society and a member of Dark Attraction and Funhouse Enthusiasts and the Napoleonic Historical Society, he has won contests with, read on the radio, presented at conferences, and published in newspapers and other forms of print articles, letters, poems, short stories, and books. He also owns the popular website historyandheadlines.com and its associated YouTube channel. He is currently teaching adjunct courses for two universities where he teaches in an engaging manner that includes occasional field trips (see for example here, here, and here) and various in-class visual aids.
