A Brief History On December 17, 2021, former police officer Kimberly Potter took the witness stand in her own defense at her trial for first-degree manslaughter (among other charges) for shooting Daunte Wright during an attempt to arrest him. A Brief History On November 15, 2021, jury instructions and final arguments occurred in the murder trial of Kyle Rittenhouse, an 18 year old defendant who was 17 years old when he shot and killed two rioters in Kenosha, Wisconsin and wounded another in a clear case of self-defense. A Brief History On October 16, 1968, the island country of Jamaica, a majority Black African heritage nation (92%+ African heritage population) experienced riots because a Black Guyanese professor, Dr. Walter Anthony Rodney, was banned from returning to Jamaica to teach at the University of the West Indies. An African history scholar, Rodney was a leading proponent of the Black Power movement that had taken hold in the United States and other countries.
